Over the past 17 years, Furnished with Finesse® has grown alongside one of Nashville's most popular neighborhoods, The Gulch. Revitalization of this once commuter/industrial area was the brain child of a private investor group near the beginning of the New Millennium, just as Furnished with Finesse was opening its doors. In subsequent years The Gulch was a bustling railroad yard dating to before the Civil War, which included a roundhouse (where rail cars were repaired), a coal yard and a paint shop. Then sadly The Gulch became neglected as first commuter rail and finally all passenger rail ceased in Nashville by 1979. This once bustling hub became a blighted neighborhood. Now fast forward 20 years to 1999, when this group of private investors and developers purchased 25 acres and created a master plan for the neighborhood.
During this developmental time for The Gulch, Furnished with Finesse opened its doors in January 2000 and has continued to grow and develop our services meeting the temporary housing needs of our forwarding city. Today, The Gulch is a vibrant urban district and a popular local destination for shopping, dining and entertainment. And of course, Furnished with Finesse offers quality properties of distinction right in the heart of it all. We are very proud to offer furnished serviced suites in The Gulch; it is the only neighborhood in Nashville governed by a privately controlled land use Master Plan and is home to Nashville’s only business improvement district outside the downtown Central Business District. In 2009, The Gulch became the first LEED for Neighborhood Development Certified green neighborhood in the southeastern United States and only the fourth Silver Certified neighborhood in the world. With this distinction, The Gulch has earned international recognition for excellence incorporating the principles of smart growth, urbanism and sustainability. So we give a big salute and “Happy 17th Co-Anniversary” to The Gulch and to Furnished with Finesse!
